The My Tesla Miami Team have compiled a list of our recommended protection services to ensure that your new Tesla Model S is as protected as possible for years to come.
What are the first steps you should take when you purchase your new Model S? Our recommendation is firstly, protection. There are different aspects to protecting a Tesla Model S, but today we will focus on the the Model S' Paint, Interior and Glass.
Paint Protection
The most popular method to protect Paint is Paint Protection Film. Paint Protection Film (PPF), otherwise known as Clear Bra, is an invisible, transparent, Urethane-Based film that creates a shield for the vehicle which it is applied on. It is not only carries properties that make it UV and Chemical resistant but it also protects the paint from rock chips, road debris, scratches, abrasion, bird droppings, nicks, stains, swirl marks and more. The PPF we use at First Class Autosports and My Tesla Miami is fade resistant and resilient providing your vehicle comprehensive protection on it's bare paintwork and carbon fiber. This invisible film provides peace of mind to Tesla Model S owners, with even high-impact areas now becoming an afterthought.
CLEAR PAINT PROTECTION FILM TESLA MODEL S
Within the world of Paint Protection Film there are different finish options for you to choose from. There is Clear Paint Protection Film which has a clear finish and is invisible when properly installed. This is the right choice for your Tesla Model S if you are happy with the color that it came from the factory with. An example is this Ultra Red Model S that installed a full PPF package to protect his rare paint.
STEALTH PAINT PROTECTION FILM TESLA MODEL S
Another PPF finish option is the Matte/Stealth Finish which turns any gloss finish that it is applied on into a Satin finish while keeping the same tones as your OEM Paint. This is extremely effective on Black and White paint. Stealth Paint Protection Film is made by XPEL, one of the leading manufacturers for PPF material. It retains all of the benefits of Clear PPF with the only difference being the finish. Tesla has produced hundreds of thousands Model S cars, which is evident every time you take your Tesla to the chargers and see so many of them. With such a small array of color options from the factory, how can you make yours stand out? We have heard countless stories of owners who walk up to the wrong Tesla thinking it is theirs but eventually notice that their car is actually parked 2 spaces down. Stealth Paint Protection Film for your Tesla Model S is a great way to stand out but in a subtle way. Satin finish on Tesla Model S cars highlight the body lines that are often lost with a gloss finish. They're sleek and give the car a whole new vibe, making it a great option for any new owner.
COLORED PAINT PROTECTION FILM TESLA MODEL S
The third finish for PPF is Colored Paint Protection Film. Colored Paint Protection Film is the new "holy trinity" film material that is taking the Paint Protection Film and Color Change market by storm in 2024. Color Paint Protection Film has a deeper finish with no orange peel or the often seen "sticker" finish that some Vinyl Wraps have.
Interior Protection
The Tesla Model S comes in All Black, Black/White, and Cream interior package options. Although these leathers are marketed as stain proof, protecting them early on is crucial for the leather's longevity. My Tesla Miami's solution to protecting your Tesla Model S' interior is the Ceramic Pro Interior Package which includes a deep clean of your Tesla's interior and multiple layers of Ceramic Pro Interior coating applied to the Seats, Door Cards, Dash, Center Console, and Steering Wheel.
Wheel Protection
If you wash your car and drive for 20 minutes it is more than likely that you will find brake dust, particles from the road and other contaminants already stuck to your wheels and brake calipers. My Tesla Miami's Ceramic Pro Wheel and Caliper Package is the solution to those worries. This nano-ceramic coating sticks to the face and barrel of your wheel as well as your brake calipers to make them smooth and hydrophobic. Glass Protection
The Tesla Model S has a lot of exposed glass as with many other Electric Vehicles. With a glass windshield, roof, side windows, and rear glass there is a lot of glass to stay on top of. Restyling your Tesla Model S
Vinyl Wraps are a great way to restyle your Tesla Model S and give it some level of protection. Just recently we had a Model S Plaid come in that had a full Satin Dark Blue Vinyl Wrap installed that had a fender bender with another vehicle mainly rubbing the tire on the rear quarter of the Model S. When we removed the vinyl wrap the paint underneath was perfect and unaffected. This also applies to sap, tar, minor scratches, and other environmental hazards where the vinyl wrap acts as a layer of protection against damage to your paint. It is important to remember however that most vinyl wraps are thin and do not protect nearly as effectively as Color Paint Protection Film. Rock chips and any deep scratch will penetrate the wrap and damage your paint. If you are interested in a more comprehensive protection package we highly recommend Colored Paint Protection Film as an alternative.
The big positive from choosing vinyl wrap instead of PPF is that it is cheaper than PPF. Vinyl wraps are a short term commitment, typically lasting 3-4 years with proper care and maintenance while PPF can last up to 10 years. There is also a never ending array of color options to choose from when picking what vinyl wrap to go with. There are custom effects like this rainbow sparkle infused black Tesla Model S or custom psychedelic and color-shift options. The options are endless!
